This visa provides holders with the freedom to reside in Australia indefinitely, pursue employment and educational opportunities, access Australia’s public health care system, Medicare, and sponsor eligible relatives to join them.

Cost overview

The visa fee for the main applicant is AUD4,640.00. Additionally, there is a fee for each family member included in the application. If any applicant aged 18 years or older does not meet the functional English requirement, there will be an extra charge known as the second installment, which is AUD4,885.00. This charge is only requested if the visa is going to be granted.

The Visa Pricing Estimator can help you calculate the visa cost, but it does not consider the second installment or other potential expenses, such as health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.

Duration of your stay

This visa is a permanent residency permit, allowing indefinite stay in Australia. It includes a travel component valid for 5 years from the date of visa issuance. Regarding citizenship eligibility, permanent residence begins on the day the visa is granted if the applicant is in Australia, or on the day they enter Australia on this visa if they are outside the country.

Include family members

You have the option to include members of your family unit in your visa application. This can be done either when you initially lodge your application or later, before a decision is made on your visa. If your partner or dependent children are not included, you must provide a reason, such as their existing Australian citizenship or permanent residency status. Family members included in your application must meet the health and character requirements. Additionally, family members who are not accompanying you to Australia may also need to meet these requirements.

Your obligations

You and your family must adhere to Australian laws.

Travel

You can travel in and out of Australia as many times as you want for up to 5 years from the date we grant the visa. After this period, you will need a Resident Return Visa (RRV) to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.

Your visa will be digitally linked to your passport. You will not receive a physical label in your passport.
